In this Easter Octave Happy Divine Mercy Sunday!
Gospel for this Sunday:
GospelJN 20:19-31
On the evening of that first day of the week,
when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews,
Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.”
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side.
The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you.
As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them,
“Receive the Holy Spirit.
Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.”Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.
So the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord.”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands
and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them.
Jesus came, although the doors were locked,
and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.”
Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands,
and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.”
Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus said to him, “Have you come to believe because you have seen me?
Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples
that are not written in this book.
But these are written that you may come to believe
that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,
and that through this belief you may have life in his name.

The Gospel of the Lord! Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ!
I didn’t post on Easter Sunday because we were in NM. We started out on Holy Thursday with the hope that maybe Fr. Jim would still be alive. However he went home to God on Holy Thursday! So we continued our trip with some sightseeing!
We found Buffalo Bill in KS.
We also found the “Yellow Brink Road” in KS.
We saw the Blue Hole in NM:
The children loved the Miraculous Staircase in Santa Fe:
At the SOLT Formation Center they played outside after Easter Mass and Brunch:
The Wake for Fr. Jim at Our Lady of Belen; the main reason for the trip:
I have’t downloaded the camera yet and it has the mountain pictures, these are off my phone!
While traveling on the Triduum Our Lord and Our Lady made sure we made it to Holy Thursday Mass and Good Friday Service, and I wasn’t where I planned to be for those, so God always takes care of us!
My last picture taken with Fr. Jim Flanagan, SOLT
July 2009, Robtown, TX. My mom Carrie Nagl, CW, SOLT, Fr. Jim and me.
The children travel well. Part of my secret to successfully traveling with children from the hard places; 1 I stop often for at least 15 minutes. (every hour and a half) I don’t overwhelm them with packed days. While there is a lot to see, we pick one or two things, and take time to go back to “home base” to relax.
Some people may wonder why I travel with these children whom I take care of. I think it is important for them to see created beauty. When they go home (adopted or bio) their family usually expects the children to be able to go on family trips. So it is also a learning/healing process for the children in our home.
Happy Divine Mercy Sunday, 8th day in the Octave of Easter!
