Agnes today!
She was dropped off on a cold winters night Jan. 21, almost 6 years ago, and we didn’t think she would last through the night. Some kids found her in a field and discovered she was still alive. Jan. 21 is the Feast of St. Agnes, hence her name! So in the morning we took her to the vet and she judged her to be about 3 months old. So we have Oct. 21 for a birthday!
She was so scared of people and other dogs! As a pup sleeping in her kennel she would fuss and cry out in her very restless sleep. It took me awhile to get used to her at the end of my bed.
While scared of people, she has always liked children! Children knew it and when we would be out walking, would come right up to her!
She has been great with the children in our home. They all love her! Even children who don’t like dogs when they first arrive, will work on getting to know her before they will us!
Of course she is no longer afraid of people or other dogs! She has healed nicely, and I learned from her about healing from abuse!
We enjoy having Agnes as part of our family!
