The Canonization of Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II.
Happy and Blessed Divine Mercy Sunday! What a beautiful day for the Canonization of our Papa John’s x2.
Having lived during the papacy of John Paul II I am more familiar with him and his helping to revive devotion to Divine Mercy and Divine Mercy Sunday. God’s Divine Mercy never left, but it needed to be brought back to peoples attention. Of course a quote that John Paul II always reminded us of is “Be not afraid”! A good reminder that God has this in scripture many times…and I do need the reminders!!!!
I had the privilege of attending several Masses and festivities with John Paul II; World Youth Day in Denver and being able to be one of the Sisters’ Chaperoning some Youth attending John Paul II’s visit to St. Louis, MO. being at a Wed. audience in Rome, and the Corpus Christi Mass and Eucharistic adoration/Procession with the Holy Father, both June 2000!
John XXIII opened Vatican council II, a council that John Paul II attended and I believe inspired him greatly.
